I really enjoyed the movie as a whole. The soundtrack is great, and the story has quite a few ups. The animation was excellent and the facials on the animals were laugh out loud hysterical. GREAT JOB!!! However, some of the action made me ponder the "family" rating. I don't believe that the varmits had to kill the butterfly to get the pest idea across. I did like the end with the kite, but I felt like the actual bird bottom was not needed (maybe a wink by the bird) as we know what is going to happen next.

This film has a really good score, and though the music seems to be a tad too loud in certain areas, I like how it basically acts as the dialogue. The "sound effects" are also top-notch, and add incredible value to the story and overall flow. I really like the color palette used across the board. All the shots are composed really well, and contain excellent "depth of field" executions. As far as the story goes, all the gags worked well for me. The only problem I had with the story was the ending. It seemed a little too weak for an otherwise perfect film. The end credits are also a little too small (font size). Regardless, I would love to see this group make more films.

The animation quality of this is amazing: the details, the colors, very nicely done. The music is excellent as well. My only critique relates to the expression of the toons. When the butterfly was killed, for example, Big Buck expression wasn't of horror, sadness or despair. At times, it seems the toons are "acting", on a theatrical way (their expressions are pre-known or seem forced).

Don't mess with the bunny. Big Buck Bunny tells the story of a big bunny with an even bigger heart. On a sunny day, Big Buck wakes up in his rabbit hole only to be pestered by three rude critters (Gimera, Frank and Rinky -the local forest bullies). When Gimera kills a butterfly, something snaps... and the rabbit ain't no bunny anymore! In the typical 1950's cartoon tradition...
